Hi, I’m Mike—also known as Lit Bricks on YouTube. I love lighting up LEGO modular buildings, and the Brick Bank has always been one of my favorite sets. Surprisingly, it was one of the few I hadn’t lit up—until now. When Light My Bricks released their DIY Building Light Kit, I jumped at the chance to give this classic modular a warm, glowing makeover!
Lighting Inspiration
The Brick Bank is full of beautiful architectural detail, and lighting it up really helps bring that to the forefront. Using Light My Bricks Building Starter Pack, I was able to highlight both the exterior and interior features without altering the original design.
Out front, a custom LMB Astro Lamp with a built-in warm white LED replaces the standard LEGO lamp, casting a soft glow over the sidewalk. Two more warm white lights were added to the entry lamps, making the bank’s facade feel more welcoming.
Over at the laundromat, a Warm White Astro Light behind the blue trans tile sign helps it pop with a subtle, neon-like effect. Inside, a second warm white light placed behind a yellow trans tile spreads a warm glow over the washing machines and tiled floor, giving the space a cozy, lived-in feel.
Inside the main bank building, I installed two Warm White Meteor Lights on each floor. These bring out the detail of the lobby, upper-floor offices, chandelier, and even the vault—making the entire building come to life, especially in low light. The kit preserves all the charm of the original set while enhancing its realism and display value.

Astro Lamp
One of my favorite touches in this build is the custom Astro Lamp by Light My Bricks. It’s designed to LEGO’s exact scale and features a built-in warm white Astro Light, powered by LMB’s ultra-thin flat flex cables. The lamp seamlessly replaces the stock LEGO streetlamp and fits perfectly into the Brick Bank’s sidewalk.
This small addition makes a big difference. The warm light gives the street corner a more atmospheric feel—perfect for capturing that classic city vibe. Whether you're using it as part of a modular street or a custom MOC, it’s a great piece that adds both realism and function to any build.
